| In hot climates helicopter windscreens are susceptible
to thermal shock, causing them to crack as temperatures rise rapidly from
lower night-time levels. Fine Group was commissioned to design and produce
a cover in the UK, using suitable materials to protect the windscreens.
The cover was to be made available as quickly as possible for use in current
deployments. The result is a lightweight cover, measuring some 4 x 3 metres, closely fitting to prevent dust and grit from scratching the screen. It has been designed to be as light as possible, and to be quick and easy to remove. Size and fit approval was given, followed by UK-based fast-track manufacture and shipping. Final approval followed extensive field trials. |
